THE PROGRAMME

The programme below is our standard itinerary but may be subject to change in light of conditions

Our simplest bushcraft and camping package – held over a period of just over 24 hours.  A gentle introduction to wild living, using large canvas shelters in a secluded woodland or moorland site, yet with easy access to vehicles, buildings, etc.

The expedition begins with a walk to camp. The children will navigate either with standard OS maps or their own hand drawn versions for an extra challenge! This trek can be adjusted to the group’s requirements.

After we arrive at our campsite, we will work as a team to prepare our shelters. These may be simple canvas canopies in good weather or more robust tepees if poor weather is forecast.

When we have settled in, we can then relax with a snack and a drink. Then there is time to play and explore. We will then try our skills at bushcraft construction. This may involve very primitive use of stones or more modern tools such as knives or saws. Working with willow or hazel, we will make useful items such as toasting forks and tongs or even headwear and jewellery!

We will then get involved in outdoor cookery. This will be using our unique recipes and innovative methods to create part of our evening meal. This may be pizza, cakes or even doughnuts!

After washing up, there is time to relax, play and chat. Later, time around the campfire, a hot chocolate (maybe with marshmallows!) and then clean teeth and bed.

The morning begins with a slow start, taking in the new day, then breakfast. There is normally time to explore and learn more about camping and the local wildlife.

We have lunch and break camp and take the short route back to the transport.
